The make-’em-suffer, wait-’em-out tactic is shockingly passive. It’s a far cry from the comprehensive reform that Mr. McCain supports, which would move decisively to extend a web of lawfulness over the shadow population, signing people up for visas, doing background checks, extracting fines and back taxes and imposing other conditions. Poll after poll shows the American public supporting this assertive, fair-minded approach. But the amnesty-never hard-liners seem determined to drown them out.
[Note: So, which is it, “far more government intrusion into daily lives” is bad - a shocking notion to read from the Leftists in the NYTimes - or is it good, “extend[ing] a web of lawfulness?” Of course, the NYTimes and their friends on the Left are not interested in restricting the size or reach of government when it suits their purposes. Rather, they use this as another scare tactic. Wouldn’t a process of legalization, as proposed by the Senate bill, require a vast new bureaucracy? Wouldn’t its enforcement mechanism require more government “snoops?” Of course it will; but, since the NYTimes editorial board wants its cheap nannies and gardeners, these are good “snoops.” Further, if the removal of these cheap laborers would cause economic collapse - Rescue Me!!!!!!!!!!jazz artist

Well, apparently Brad and Angelina are selling the pictures of their baby and donating the money to charity. I wonder why people would pay so much money to see a baby. I mean come on, it’s a little baby, you’re going to get lots of pictures of her later on, why do you need to have her on every magazine’s cover? I’m glad that he baby was finally born - I was tired of reading about it, it seems like this baby’s life was chronicled since the time of conception. And Gwen Stefanie had her baby last week as well. I hope this is the end of all the celebrity pregnancies that everyone was talking about for months and months. I have to admit I like torturing myself by reading about them, it’s like a sick attraction, but in the end it just makes me feel bad about myself. Oh, well, we still have Britney and her second baby, how could I forget about that. Hopefully she’ll drop her excuse for a husband by the time the baby is born and go back to being Britney again. I hate it when women lose themselves after they marry scmucks!
Okay so there was a small hiccup in the vacation. As J over at City-itis pointed out yesterday beauty and traveling is getting dangerous. Although you would not catch me being arrested over nail polish….it just wouldn’t happen.
However…I was THOROUGHLY UPSET when I discovered my brand new mini Purity Made Simple cleanser was spilled out all over the inside of my toiletries bag. Y’all know how much I love that stuff…plus wtf would I wash my face with…the safeguard soap at the hotel?? File that under awww helll naw.
So off to the local wal-mart I went in search of something…anything to wash my poor face. After roaming the half stocked aisles convinced I wouldn’t find anything and I would have to settle for Noxzema (not my favorite..but it will work in a pinch) I found the last tube of a cleanser I had heard about but hadn’t got to try yet. In the land of, “You can get discount cigarettes, beer and a Virginia ham here!!!” I got something to clean my face and not break it in two from dryness.
something the author seems to believe - than legalizing people, which, one assumes, would lead to higher wages, benefits, and so forth, will also lead to a “devastating” situation for the “agriculture and service industries” as their labor costs sky-rocket. The whole point of the economic argument for illegals is that they have a below market labor cost associated with them. Unless you truly believe that they “do jobs Americans won’t do” at any wages - something that the facts do not support - than the economic argument has to hinge on the labor costs. If those come in line with market rates for legal labor, than there would be comparable economic damage done. So, the economic argument really depends on a large pool of illegal labor.]
It also quotes e-mails from Kerry’s former campaign manager that are highly critical of the behavior of Kerry’s wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry . An advance copy of the memoir of Shrum’s years in politics, slated for release in early June, was provided to the Globe.
Shrum, who was brought into the campaign to help provide Kerry with a strategic overview, provides a vivid de scription about the events leading up to Kerry’s decision to vote for the war.
Worried his bride had sunk them into a bankruptcy spiral, John took out a line of credit against their home’s equity, and paid every sucker off. He also sat down with his wife and firmly explained she was never to do this again.
But, he had to go off to work again, leaving her on her own, and, lo and behold, she did do it again.
In 2006, ExxonMobil, its divisions and affiliates, along with the ExxonMobil Foundation, provided a combined $138.6 million in charitable contributions and community investment worldwide.
But Rep. Bart Stupak, along with his cosponsors—86 Democrats and 3 Republicans—want to make it a crime to “sell crude oil, gasoline, natural gas, or petroleum distillates at a price that is unconscionably excessive or indicates the seller is take unfair advantage (of) unusual market conditions or the circumstances of an emergency to increase prices unreasonably.” This, my friends, is grandstanding.

The bill would impose imprisonment and corporate penalties of up to $150 million a day. And do you think for a minute that this will actually have any impact on the cost of gasoline?
In case you’re wondering what does impact the cost, it is called market conditions. As Marlo Lewis, a senior fellow of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, points out, “Constraining the ability of gas companies to set prices according to supply and demand is a recipe for rationing. In the end, there will be less gas available and the people who will get it will be those most prepared to wait in line.” Welcome to the 1970s!
Columnist George F. Will recently noted that, “Gasoline consumption has increased 2.14 percent during the past year.” In inflation-adjusted dollars, $3.07 is less than gasoline cost in 1981.
Financial infidelity is a leading cause of marriage breakups,
He writes that Kerry telephoned him on the eve of the Oct. 11, 2002, vote. Shrum said Kerry was skeptical of Bush’s claim that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and that he “didn’t trust Bush to give the diplomatic route a real chance.” Nonetheless, Kerry asked Shrum whether he would “be a viable general election candidate if he was in the small minority of senators who voted no.”
Regardless of how the former guys compare, I personally can’t wait for tonight’s NBC broadcast with Don Cherry. Gotta love a guy who speaks his mind regardless of whether it’s politically correct or not.
Fortunately for us, Sanjana does some of his best thinking out loud at his blog, ICT for Peacebuilding (ICT stands for information communications technology).
While much of Sanjana’s efforts focus on Sri Lanka, his words and work have universal application. His writing speaks global truths. His most recent post exemplifies this: it is an impassioned and eloquent call for citizen journalism.
One on five, and the one willed the win. Through the last minutes of regulation and all of two playoff overtimes, in the loneliest of basketball moments on the road amid the roar of the crowd against veteran defenders, and with the series about to swing, LeBron James willed all right – willed it like maybe no one else ever has.
This point is echoed by the AP’s Tom Withers, who noted that;
Anyone who cares about participatory democracy and a responsible media should listen closely.

Communication breakdown: a graphic representation of dialogue
05opart-largeAppearing on the op-ed page of the April 4 New York Times was this illustration by Paula Scher depicting the life cycle of a blog post. It actually resembles many efforts at public discourse, particularly those of a political nature.
Familiar points include “present factoids that counter thesis”, “impugn the character of thesis author”, “impugn character of anyone who even considered agreeing,” “criticize the character of those who repudiated the character of those who agreed,” and “denounce all dissenters of thesis”.
There are moments that help define a player’s career, such as Curt Shilling and his bloody sock, Bobby’s Orr’s “The Goal”, or Bobby Baun scoring the overtime goal in Game 6 of the ‘64 Cup after leaving the game earlier with a broken ankle. With these epic, clutch moments in mind, LeBron James has joined in with his 25 point finish to lead the Cavs back over the Pistons in Game 5 of the Eastern Finals.
Said Yahoo! Sports’ Dan Wetzel,
The 48 points were spectacular, but hardly tell the whole story. He scored them in the biggest game of his four-year career. He scored them in the most important game in Cleveland’s 37-year history. He scored them on the road, against the Pistons, one of the league’s toughest defensive teams.
So there you have it, LeBron stepped up in a hostile arena against the toughest defense there is, while still being only 22. It only adds to the wonder when you stop and realize how the game of basketball is played, and how it differs from other sports. While most sports can have a key player, the whole team must be involved to come out with the win. In no other sport, with the exception of home runs in baseball, can a team back off and let one player dominate on offense.
The demand for pharmacists in the U.S. also is high, says Uddin. American Industries has recruited 21 pharmacists from The Philippines and India and nine high-technology engineers from India, all of whom are already in the U.S. After passing their test on one trip to the U.S. on a visitor’s visa, they accept jobs and enter the country with professional visas, which are granted pretty rapidly, says Uddin.
I have chosen not to participate. Today instead I am calling attention to another important observance. Tomorrow is Law Day. Law Day, a public education initiative of the American Bar Association, was created to celebrate democracy and the rule of law. I can think of no better way to honor those who have perished through violence than to celebrate the fundamental liberties that the rule of law protects. Before we can have peace in the world, we need justice first.
How will you celebrate Law Day? For some ideas, visit the Law Day web site.

The art of demotivation: video captures bad boss behavior
Demotivating bossesThere is probably no greater source of workplace conflict than bad bosses. Why?
Outsource to Arkansas
MSN Money reports an Arkansas woman believes that companies can send jobs to rural areas and save just as much as they could sending them to places like India.
So she left her job, trading the corporate jet for a rental car. With $2 million of her money, she created Rural Sourcing, an information technology contracting company that she claims can do the same work companies are sending overseas, for virtually the same price. White says this isn’t a charity project. She already has five companies signed up, including her old employer, Cardinal Health, and another 50 in the pipeline.
Her efforts won’t mean the end of so-called off-shoring of jobs by any means. But attorney Robert Zahler, who advises companies on outsourcing, says this will be an alternative for some clients. “Someone like Rural Sourcing should be able to save them somewhere between 30% or 50%, depending on what geographic market they’re already in,” Zahler says.
Domestic Outsourcing Boom in India
Express India reports India based IT outsourcing service providers are now scrambling to provide for the 3.5 million small and medium sized businesses (SMB) scattered throughout India.
“Outsourcing has traditionally been the preserve of large enterprises and the government, but now SMB-level organisations are looking at outsourcing, simply because the cost differentiation between doing the work in-house and outsourcing can be huge,” says a senior official of Hyderabad-based Satyam Computer.
Salsa
Salsa is one thing I make very often. We love Mexican food and the stuff in the jar just does not compare to fresh homemade salsa. Normally I like to use fresh tomatoes for this salsa, but I have listed here my recipe using canned tomatoes so that you can prepare this any time of year. For fresh tomatoes, just substitute about 2 cups, chopped. When using fresh I prefer to use Romas .
the four buttons on the left are the controls of your cd player if you play music while you work.
The big round button is the Mute Button.
the two buttons on the right are the Volume control for your speakers. Second only to the battery indicator in utility.
Mouse
The mouse is an optical mouse, which is probably the greatest enhancement to mice since the PS2 adaptor. Two Button mouse with scroll, the action of it is firm, firmer than logitech or microsoft mice. Once you get used to it, you will be able to break bricks with your index finger. Okay maybe not, but it does have a firmer action.
The receiver is this pod looking thing.
Pod
It has indicators for Caps, Num, Scroll Lock and Act, (activity).
The big button is the connect button that you will only need to use the first time you plug it in.
You really really need this.
